In a groundbreaking announcement at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2023, Arief Syarifudin, Marketing and PR Director of MG Motor Indonesia, revealed that the electric vehicles MG Cyberster and IM LS6 are poised to make their debut in Indonesia.

Arief expressed immense pride and enthusiasm in introducing the MG Cyberster and IM LS6 to the Indonesian market. These models symbolize MG's commitment to innovation, ushering in a new era of electric mobility."We believe that both these vehicles will be exceptionally well-received in Indonesia, aligning with the dynamic and diverse needs of the market," stated Arief confidently.
Redefining Expectations in Indonesia
The arrival of these models not only aims to enrich the electric vehicle landscape in Indonesia but also to redefine consumer expectations regarding performance, design, and the sustainability of future vehicles.
However, the exact launch date for MG Cyberster and IM LS6 in Indonesia remains undisclosed. Arief hinted that MG Motor Indonesia plans to make an official announcement regarding the launch date shortly.
"With Cyberster and IM LS6, MG promises not only efficient and sophisticated vehicles but also a unique and satisfying driving experience for Indonesian consumers," emphasized Arief.
MG Cyberster Specifications
Futuristic Design and Powerful Performance
The Cyberster, a convertible electric roadster with a sporty flair, seamlessly blends captivating aesthetics with outstanding performance. Its futuristic design, featuring Automatic Scissor Doors, sets it apart from other electric vehicles in Indonesia.
The vehicle offers two drive system options: RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) and AWD (All-Wheel Drive). The RWD version utilizes a rear-wheel electric motor generating a robust 231 kW or 314 PS.
On the other hand, the AWD variant boasts dual electric motors, producing 150 kW (204 PS) at the front wheels and 200 kW (272 PS) at the rear wheels, propelling the car from 0-100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds.
The Cyberster is equipped with a 77 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 580 km per charge for the AWD variant and reaching 800 km for the RWD type.
IM LS6 Specifications
MG's Technological Advancement in an Electric SUV Coupe
In contrast to the roadster style of Cyberster, the LS6 is an electric SUV coupe showcasing MG's technological and design prowess.
This electric vehicle boasts advanced features such as an AI-based navigation system, offering an innovative and comfortable driving experience.
Originally from IM Motors, a joint venture between SAIC, Alibaba, and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, all based in China, the LS6 was launched in its home country in October 2023. Many have noted its SUV fastback design, drawing comparisons to the Aston Martin DBX.
With dimensions of 4,904 mm length, 1,988 mm width, 1,669 mm height, and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, the LS6 surpasses the Tesla Model Y by 154 mm in length and the Toyota Fortuner 2.8 GR Sport by 109 mm.
Unlike the compact MG ZS EV, LS6 in China offers various variants based on electric motor capabilities and battery specifications.
The basic model features a single electric motor at the rear axle, producing 319 PS and 450 Nm torque. It is equipped with a 71 kWh battery, providing a range of 560 km on a single charge.
Moving up, a model with a single electric motor delivers up to 345 PS and 450 Nm torque, coupled with a 90 kWh battery for a remarkable range of 680 km.
The next variant boasts a powerful 522 PS electric motor with 500 Nm torque, rear-wheel drive, and a 100 kWh battery, offering an impressive range of up to 760 km.
The highest-tier variant, equipped with a 4WD system, achieves a maximum power of 798 PS, peak torque of 800 Nm, and a 100 kWh battery with a range of 702 km.
